My Top Four Most Anticipated Book Releases of 2018

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2018 is to read more than I did last year. My goal right now is fifteen books. I want to finally get around to reading some books that have been on my To Be Read list for a while, but there are also some pretty awesome-looking books coming out this year that I would like to read, too.

After writing this I realize they are all YA but…well, I am who I am.

So here you are, my top four most anticipated releases of 2018!

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

Release Date: February 6th, 2018

The plot to this book is a little hard for me to describe, but I’ll do my best: The Belles follows Camellia Beauregard, a Belle who lives in the world of Orléans. In this world, Belles are the only ones who can control Beauty, a gift which is highly coveted. Everyone who is not a Belle is “gray” and “damned.” Camellia wants to be the Belle who lives with the Queen and the royal family in their palace, but once she arrives she realizes that not everything is as it seems, and soon she has tough decisions to make.

The plot to this book sounds like something I have never read before, so I’m quite intrigued. I’ve also seen a lot about this book on Twitter, and all the early reviews have been really positive.

Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Klann

Release Date: January 23rd, 2018

Let’s Talk About Love tells the story of am asexual girl named Alice. Alice is a college student with big plans for her summer, but she has recently suffered heartbreak when her girlfriend breaks up with her after Alice tells her that she is asexual. While working at the library, she meets a boy named Takumi, who she feels an attraction towards, but since she had sworn off dating she’s afraid to pursue it.

I’ve seen a little bit about this book on Twitter and it sounds like it’s going to be good. It’s got a diverse set of characters, and I am also interested in reading a novel with an openly asexual protagonist, something I haven’t read before.

Throne of Glass Book 7 by Sarah J. Maas

Release date: Fall 2018

This is the final book in Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series. Full disclosure, I haven’t actually read the last book in the series that she published (Tower of Dawn), because it doesn’t follow the main set of characters and so I haven’t been as interested in reading it. Still, I plan on reading that one and this one as well, as I have really liked this series so far and I can’t wait to find out what happens in the final installment.

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi

Release date: March 18th, 2018

Tahereah Mafi returns to the world of the Shatter Me series with this fourth installment. This book follows the story of Juliette and the gang now that they have taken over Sector 45 with Juliette as the new Supreme Commander.

I really enjoyed the original Shatter Me trilogy and I didn’t expect there to be more books, so when I heard that Mafi was returning to the series I was surprised. I feel like returning to a completed series can be a little hit-or-miss, but I’m still planning on giving this book a shot, and hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!

I know there are a lot of other great books that are coming out this year, but these are the ones I am looking forward to most right now. What new releases are you looking forward to?
