I am Thinking About Reincarnation While in the Shower

I am thinking about reincarnation while in the shower
and it is not my favorite idea
of life after this —
so tedious, to always be
starting over.
But if it is true
if we are on an
ever-turning wheel
if we must get off
again and
again
let my restless spirit
turn to water
a river running endless
let your tired bones
become the rocks below
and I will flow over
your rough edges,
wearing them down to smooth
and in between the cracks
only big enough for me.
If in this life we were meant
to only spin around each other
never touching
let the next never see us parted
if the wheel did not stop for us
in this life
meet me in the next.
