I admit to being caught up in the idea of needing to do something drastic, like travel or move abroad, in order to change my life or make it more meaningful somehow. I think especially with the prevalence of travel on social media and everyone posting their photos of these amazing experiences they are having and looking like they are living the dream, people see that and get jealous. They think “if I could live my life that way, I would be happy.” Not realizing everything that goes on behind the scenes of those pictures or considering the realities of that lifestyle. I agree that travel won’t make you happy or complete you unless you address whatever is the underlying issue in yourself or your life that is causing the unhappiness in the first place. Something I need to remind myself of from time to time. Thank you for posting this!
