After Turkey Dinner
Pick the carcass clean with meticulous hands;
maximize leftovers, save everything worth saving,
eat for days. Make coffee, slice soft pumpkin pie,
mix up whip cream, fresh. Bellies full and bodies
slow. Talk, talk. Save this for later,
every bit of it; feed yourself for years
after it’s gone
